History

Some articles describe some of the history of the WCF.

The WCF formed from an initially informal organisation based around the regular participants in Zen and Chan retreats at Maenllwyd Retreat Centre, but later formalised its structure with a constitution and registered as a charity in England and Wales in 1997. In 2017 WCF converted to a different type of charity, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

We now hold retreats monthly in various UK venues, host meditation groups in various towns and cities around the UK, and have affiliated groups in Poland and Norway and contacts elsewhere.
